Mrs. Sarah Ann Cooper, age 67, a former resident of Fountain County, died Thursday, Aug. 16, at a hospital at Sunny Vale, Calif. In ill health for a year, Mrs. Cooper had made her home at Sunny Vale for the past three months, and prior to this had been employed by the U.S. government at Washington, D.C., since 1918. Mrs. Cooper was born Feb. 10, 1895 at Cayuga, the daughter of John and Cebe Clawson Pierson. She was married to Albert Cooper. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Mildred Cooper and Mrs. Connie Rouzee, both of Sunny Vale; two brothers, William Pierson of Hoopeston, Ill., and Joe Pierson of Markham, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Jernagan of Perrysville, and Mrs. Elsie Rector of Veedersburg; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. The body arrived at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here Monday morning. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Hugh Miller officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Virgil Adams, Wilton Boyle, Jesse Pierson, Kenneth Short, Albert Payne and Murray Fultz.
